Thoughts From Francis of Assisi (whose feast day is Oct. 4) 

“One has not given up all things for God if that person is still holding on to the purse of their own opinions.” – Francis to his brothers

For those of you who are traveling the journey of the Twelve Steps and Spiritual Formation (see my blog postings in the category of  Breathing Under Water), these two teachings are familiar and very real.  And very difficult to live out.
