LIVING AS APPRENTICES
We talk a lot about the value of silence and solitude in spiritual formation circles. Time spent apart and being quiet is valuable because it connects us to God and God’s Kingdom and fuels our action.
However, some times we need to speak up – especially when unarmed black teenagers are shot, when children in need are vilified, when the world is trashed because of our selfish consumerism and unharnessed desires, and when religious politics and vengeance create death and suffering for innocent people.
I encourage you to click on this TED talk link for a talk by teacher Clint Smith about the danger of silence. We all need to speak up!
