I Wish You Peace

LIVING AS APPRENTICES

This last space of time in this year 2013 has been difficult for many I know and love.  As I sit with them and listen or apart from them and muse/pray, I ache for them and for the world.  We are all living in mean and hurtful times. A friend of mine signs her e-mails, Wishing you Joy and Holy Chaos.  Together we have learned that Holy Chaos is perhaps the best source of a peaceful spirit.   This morning I found this little meditation in my e-mail. I share it with you at the time we celebrate the birth of the One who also lived in mean and hurtful times (and Holy Chaos) and, though he  suffered greatly (or because he suffered greatly and well), modeled the infinite blessing of peace.

Peace
By Dorothy Hunt

Do you think peace requires an end to war
Or tigers eating only vegetables?
Does peace require an absence from your boss, your spouse, yourself?
Do you think peace will come some other place than here?
Some other time than now?
In some other heart than yours?
Peace is this moment without judgment.
That is all.
This moment in the heart-space where everything that is, is welcome.
Peace is this moment without thinking that it should be some other way
That you should feel some other thing
That your life should unfold according to your plans.
Peace is this moment without judgment.
This moment in the heart-space where everything that is, is
welcome.
