Starting New – 2013

I love the fact that human beings artificially created an end to one year and the beginning of another.  I need to wind up and re-start, declutter (thoughts as well as objects) and think fresh,  sort through and re-do, think back and plan ahead.  The following thoughts from Howard Thurman (in The Mood of Christmas) remind me of what I need to include as I go through this process.

There must be always
remaining in every life,
some place for the singing of angels.

Some place for that
which in itself
is breathless and
beautiful.

Old burdens become lighter
deep and ancient wounds
lose much of their old hurting.

Despite all the crassness of life,
all the hardness and
harsh discords,
life is saved by
the singing of angels.
